Fighters

Interceptors (fighter bays) and Assault Shuttles are known technologies right at start. Bombers and Heavy Fighters can be optionally researched at later time.

Assault Shuttles are only fighters which do not make damage. 1 squad carry 4 marines from ship they were fired. Their only goal is to capture enemy ship. Their base speed is 6 modified by best known drive. Their hit points = 7 modified by best known armor.

Interceptors are equipped with best point defence weapon and can attack bombers, missles and other interceptors. They fire 4 times before coming to hope ship and travel at base speed of 11 fields per turn modified by best known drive. Their hit points = 20 modified by best known armor.

Bombers are equipped with best bomb type avaliable and they cannot attack other fighter type units and missles. They fire 1 time before coming to hope ship and travel at base speed of 8 fields per turn modified by best known drive. Their hit points = 26 modified by best known armor.

Heavy Fighters are equipped with best bomb type and best point defense weapon avaliable. They cannot attack other fighter type units and missles. They fire 2 times before coming to hope ship and travel at base speed of 8 fields per turn modified by best known drive. Their hit points = 30 modified by best known armor.

 
   
Speed and hit points

Each better drive adds +2 fields to all fighters speed. Table below shows how they move:

They may seem slow at first but remember they do not have penalty for turning like other big ships and move in same turn they were fired.

Notice that base armor of fighters is TRITANIUM even if you did not research it. Hit points shown above all for SQUAD units. Each squad holds 4 fighter type units.

Assault shuttles, bombers and heavy fighters take 24 points of space. Interceptors are smaller and take only 18 space. All units DO NOT MINIATURIZE.

Example battleship with battle pods, triple hull, engines and shields can hold up to 11 bomber squads which have on zortium level armor amazing hit points of 2288.
